Winter Wardrobe Guide
Today we are going to talk about some Autumn/Winter menswear garments which every man should invest in for his wardrobe, the following I’ve bought over the years, they may cost a little more but spending money on quality garments will ensure the last for many years to come.
The first winter garment for every Gentleman’s Winter wardrobe is of course an overcoat, whether its a wool and cashmere blend or an all cashmere bank buster they are an absolute must, our Brook Taverner Bond Overcoat is the perfect example, a smart item available in three colours it is a cashmere blend at a very reasonable price, the wool and cashmere will certainly keep you warm at what seems to be an increasing amount of winter weddings without the outlay of an all cashmere which will likely set your wallet back seven to eight hundred pounds.
Next on the list must be a warm Lambswool Jumper, I prefer a V-Neck if wearing a collared shirt or a Crew Neck if wearing a polo shirt, of course it is a matter of personal choice, we stock Lambswool Jumpers from Johnson’s of Elgin, great quality garments made in Scotland, available in ten colours in both V-Neck and Crew Neck , again the Lambswool will be great to keep you warm in winter months.
You will of course need a pair of sturdy boots, not many come better than a pair of Barkers, hand made in Northampton, England for over 100 years the heritage of Barker Shoes speaks for itself, id recommend one of two Barker Boots, the Glencoe comes in a range of colours and has a rubber Vibram sole or the Butcher which is a Cedar coloured calf leather with a Goodyear welted leather sole, both will easily see you through to spring with warm dry feet. Obviously you must take care of such quality boots, look after them let them dry out naturally, not next to the fire as this will possibly result in cracking the leather, treat the regularly to some cream to keep the leather subtle and they will last you twenty to thirty years.
These three winter essentials along with wardrobe staples such as brushed cotton shirts and warm winter trousers will easily get you through the chilly months of October through to the end of February.
